Carrizo Leases
As of December 31, 2004, Carrizo held a total of 30,000 net acres in the Barnett Shale. Approximately 4,000 net acres were within the mature “Core” area which has better defined production characteristics due to the large number of Barnett producing wells (over 3,000 at year-end). Carrizo had approximately 17,000 net acres in the Tier 1 area at year-end. This area has fewer Barnett Shale wells (under 300), but has all of the characteristics required for very successful development. The approximate 9,000 acres outside of Tier 1 is gas-bearing and highly prospective, but has very few (less than 25) Barnett Shale wells drilled to-date.

Completed 3D Survey
Carrizo has completed or participated in 3D seismic surveys that cover roughly 40% of its year-end Barnett Shale acreage position. The acreage covered by these surveys is depicted above. The Company believes its expertise in 3D acquisition, processing and interpretation will provide a competitive advantage in the Barnett Shale play. We plan to continue our active 3D data acquisition program during 2005.
